I have a lot of big ideas but often struggle coming up with concise, catchy ways to brand and pitch them. I need elevator pitches, if you will.
I would love to start a little side consulting business training people to meet, and build relationships with, their neighbors. Since early 2020, I have talked to hundreds of people about the importance of getting to know their neighbors and almost all of them saw a world where neighbors know neighbors again as at least theoretically a necessity, and the vast majority longed for a time when neighbors could leave their door unlocked or ask for a cup of sugar. I've been training people to meet neighbors for free for 2 years and now I'm wondering if I could make a little extra to sustain myself and family from this. I describe more here.
My main problem is that I have no idea how to market this. I have never seen anybody else with a business idea like it!
Similarly, for the time bank I've come up with a concept of one day a week where people, families, groups, and church congregations pledge to have their members try to avoid spending any money. Instead, they would be challenged to turn to immediate neighbors, broader community, gift, timebanking, and other abundant community-based alternatives instead! I also would like some ideas for catchier ways to advertise this.
